BRINGING BACK MEMORIES...
With the drywall down, the only thing standing in the way of an open floor plan for the back of our house was the framing. Luckily, it wasn’t too long before the studs were down and beams were up. Seeing the back of our house transform took me back to the excitement we felt when we removed a bunch of walls in our New Jersey fixer upper. There is nothing I love more than witnessing a vision I had in my head materialize in front of my eyes.
Once the walls were opened up, I grabbed my trusty roll of blue tape and got to work figuring out the specifics for my floating shelf wall and even taped off the double island placement so I could triple-check the measurements. I wanted to ensure the walkways and seating areas didn’t feel cramped or confined.
It may be this moment where you start scratching your head thinking “Double islands?!” Don’t worry. I’ll fill you in on all the kitchen plans in the next post.
