Like I said earlier…before we stepped foot in the house, we knew. It just felt right. It didn’t hurt that we were greeted by a spacious entryway and charming staircase when we opened the front door.

The further we walked into the house, the more potential we saw. We loved the beautiful trim, multiple closets and nice sized powder room situated right off the foyer.

We walked out of the entryway and looped through the formal living room, formal dining room and then into the kitchen.

I think our hearts skipped a beat when we walked into the kitchen. All we could see was lots of windows and two doorways into the adjoining great room, which was also full of windows. Bonus…there was a fireplace and second staircase that finished off the space.

Remember how I wanted light, bright, open and airy? Yes, this place was definitely light and bright. And I knew that once we were able to complete a few modifications I was already dreaming up in my head, the back of the home would be open and airy, too.

Our tour could have probably stopped at that point and we would have put an offer in on the house (okay, not really), but thankfully, there was more house to see. Off the great room we were pleased to see yet another generous sized closet and laundry room.

Then we headed up the back staircase to make our way through four bedrooms, three bathrooms and an unfinished storage space. Again, here are more pictures from the listing…

Thanks to the front and back staircases, the second floor felt so open and connected to the rest of the house.

The home truly gave us all the feels. It wasn’t even ours yet and I had already remodeled half of it in my head. Once we survived the sale and closed on the home, we began the search for a company who could turn my design ideas into reality.
